Cyprus as a place for a children's birthday: formats and venues

The Cypriot climate makes outdoor birthdays possible almost all year, and that is the main argument for beaches and parks. The drawback is the usual one: heat in summer, wind in winter, and no plan B at all if the weather turns the day before.

Limassol is the city with the widest choice on the island. There are cafés with children's corners, family restaurants with animators, attraction parks and venues that come with a full programme. The decision usually comes down not to the place but to the age of the group and to how much of the day the parents want to spend organising.

A themed party, a quest, a pirate ship, a water park — all of these work if a script has been written for them. Without a script any of them turns into a set of activities with bored gaps in between. It is the script, not the venue, that decides whether the child remembers the day.
